Motivation

So it's apparent that a longboard is going to be an inevitable purchase in the near future.
Shred til dead. Man.

I see the Tame Impala boyz in only 5 days. For the third time. Super excited about it. They're playing at The Tivoli which is meant to be a pretty neat venue - an old restored theatre.
& I like this photo of them - though I'm not sure who the other guy on guitar is...

Then once I'm back from Brisbane, I head down to Mackay the following day. I haven't been there in soo long, like 14 months. So that should be good.

I read this the other day...

It's pretty straight forward & obvious what it's about. Very quick read, but it's a best-seller. As it says on the back - "He [Paul Arden] gives original & logical answers to everyday questions. Much of it appears obvious when you read it, but aren't all questions easy when you know the answers?" It was pretty good.

I fell asleep on my desk at work yesterday. It was a triumph. I held out for most of the day, then it got the last hour - I couldn't take much more, the guy next to me was trying to keep me awake by talking about manga, which just made me more sleepy because he was so into it, but every story he spoke of had the exact same story line, so I just rested my head & went to sleep. Then he shook me so hard it gave me a headache. Arsehole.

After being pushed off the road & up onto the median strip the other day, I wanted to vouch that I would never drive again - I couldn't though because driving is kind of inevitable. I wanted to either walk or ride a bicycle around town. Just take hours to get to places, always arrive late, sweat & stink like a vagabond, constantly pant like I've been smoking a pack a day for 15 years - that sort of thing. But the following day I was back in the car, on the stinkin' road, driving to work.

I have considered this no car thing for some time & found a company in Italy - Abici - that makes some lovely bikes, they look old but they're new & very expensive. I don't want to spend a lot on a bike that I'm probably going to spend more time crashing than riding.

  1. Those bikes are lovely, but you'd still sweat up a storm getting to work. Heck, you'd be sweating just standing there looking at them in Townsville.

How on earth did you end up on the median strip? I'd have had a heartattack!
